Cal Spas builds your tub in America and ships it from California to our warehouse. From there our own crew drives it to your house and installs it, and we’re here for you every step of the way.

Free pre-inspection

Once you’ve picked a tub, we can come out to your house to look at the spot, the delivery path and the power, so delivery day has no surprises.

Get the spot ready

You get the pad poured, the electrical run and the path cleared. Our guide below covers each one.

Delivery day

Our crew brings the tub to your house, sets it in place, gets it running and walks you through the basics.

Follow-up visit

We come back 3 to 7 days after setup to recheck your water, make sure everything is working and answer your questions.

The concrete pad

4-inch reinforced concrete that extends at least 6 inches past the spa on every side.

It needs to be flat, level and strong enough to hold the spa full of water and people. Plan drainage away from the spa, and confirm the final pad size for your model with us before the concrete is poured.

The electrical

Most full-size spas need dedicated 220–240V service.

Requirements vary by model, and we’ll give you the specs for yours. The work should be done by a qualified electrician to local and national code, including GFCI protection. The Aloha, Balboa, Kona, Maui and Hawaiian plug into a standard outlet.

The delivery path

Walk the route from the street to the spot.

Make sure gates and side yards have room, and watch for fences, stairs, landscaping, roof overhangs, A/C units and overhead wires. Tell us ahead of time about tight or unusual access.

Bring in a sample any time we’re open. In about a minute you get a printout of how your spa is doing and what, if anything, it needs.

Where do you deliver?

Do you come out before delivery?

Yes. We offer a free pre-inspection at your home to look at the spot, the delivery path and the power.

What size pad do I need?

4-inch reinforced concrete, at least 6 inches bigger than the spa on every side. Confirm the exact size for your model with us before you pour.

Do I need an electrician?

Not for the plug-and-play tubs: Aloha, Balboa, Kona, Maui and Hawaiian run on a standard outlet. Kona Plus, Tropical Plus, Costa, Malibu, Carmel and El Grande need a dedicated 240v circuit, run by a qualified electrician with GFCI protection.

Can it go on a deck?

Often, if the deck is built for the weight. A full hot tub is heavy, so have a contractor check it first.

What does delivery cost?

It depends on the tub and your site. Ask when you pick out your tub and we’ll give you the full picture.
