110v or 240v: which hot tub do you need?

The first question we ask in the showroom isn’t about jets or colors. It’s about power, because it decides where your tub can go and what has to happen before delivery day.

Plug-and-play: 110v

Five of the tubs we carry run on a standard household outlet: the Aloha, Balboa, Kona, Maui and Hawaiian. There’s no electrician to schedule, and they can go almost anywhere you have a level spot. We’ll go over the outlet requirements for the model you pick.

The Maui and Hawaiian can run on either 110v or 240v, and they both seat six.

240v: a dedicated circuit

The Kona Plus, Tropical Plus, Costa, Malibu, Carmel and El Grande need a dedicated 240v circuit, the same kind of line an electric dryer or range uses. That’s what lets them run bigger pumps: the Carmel and El Grande each have three 6.0 BHP pumps.

An electrician runs the circuit before delivery. We’ll tell you exactly what your tub needs so you can get a quote ahead of time.

How to choose

  • Want it simple? Start with a plug-and-play model.
  • Want the most jets? Go 240v. The Carmel has 93.
  • Need room for a crowd? The Tropical Plus seats seven on 240v. The Maui seats six and can run on 110v.

Still not sure? Come sit in a few and tell us where it’s going. We’ll sort out the power side before you fall in love with a tub.
